Nicholas attended Tunstall (C of E) Primary School, Borden Grammar School and King's College, London. He has a BA(hons) in geography and is currently a trainee chartered accountant with UHY Hacker Young LLP.

The current issues in Borden ward include concerns about excessive housing developments, proposed fortnightly collections, anti-social behaviour and road safety. Borden Ward is a diverse rural community with a good village school.

Duncan was born in Harrow and attended Belmont secondary school. He has lived in this area for 35 years and is married with two stepchildren.
Duncan is also member of Bobbing Parish Council. He is a fire safety consultant advising on fire and bomb emergency procedures have lectured on fire safety throughout the country.

Gareth was born in Minster on Sheppey, but grew up in Sittingbourne and has lived here all his life. He went to three Sittingbourne schools: Grove Park primary, Westlands secondary, then Borden Grammar School. He subsequently gained a degree from Durham Universityand has worked in the IT industry (i.e. computers) since graduating, and has a number of professional IT certifications. Gareth's hobbies include, amongst other things, DIY, computers, and modern jive dancing.

Gerry started life in north-west Kent and was educated at Erith Grammar School. His career began in the Admiralty. His subsequent career was in the private sector, as an IT specialist, concluding in 1998 when he was working for Lloyd’s of London. Gerry has lived in Upchurch since 1978 and became the Borough Councillor for the Ward of Hartlip & Upchurch in 1991 and then the enlarged Ward of Hartlip, Newington & Upchurch from 2002. Currently he is the Deputy Leader of Swale Borough Council, standing in for the Leader ‘as and when’.

John was elected to Upchurch, Newington and Hartlip ward in May 2002 and re-elected in May 2003 and 2007.
He has lived in the area for 47 years and is married. John attended Kings School in Rochester and Hadlow College of Agriculture and was awarded membership of the Institute of Directors in London. He was an agricultural advisor at Foremans Headcorn, then Sales and Marketing Director for Reprorama, London and he is now a self employed livery yard proprietor.

Ben represents Iwade and Lower Halstow on Swale Borough Council.

As well as actively representing his residents, Ben also sits on Swale's planning committee, the community scrutiny panel, and the Swale Rural Forum.

Sue is one of two Conservative Swale Borough Councillors for Kemsley.

Brenda is one of two Conservatives to represent Kemsley on Swale Borough Council.

Pat was born in London and attended Dalston County Grammar School. She was a Local Government Officer for 20 years in finance and administration. She has also been a Parish Councillor for nine years.
The current issues in the ward include the children's centre and primary school, roads and youth facilities. The good points in the ward include good tourism, good community and good outlook. Pat enjoys reading and she looks after the village hall.

Andy has lived in the Swale area for over 20 years. He attended Aylesford School, Canterbury College and Mid-Kent College and holds an ONC/HND MECH & Elec Engineering Diploma MECH Engineering. Andy is a presenter on a local radio station, a Parish Councillor and Chairman of a Low Carbon Initiative Group. Current issues in the ward include highways, litter and drainage problems. Andy considers Minster Cliffs Ward to be a beautiful part of England with access to wildlife and panoramic views and a friendly and loyal community.

Adrian was born in Brinscall, near Blackburn, in Lancashire and Educated at the Merchant Taylors' School in Crosby, near Liverpool, and then went on to train as a teacher at Matlock College of Education (Nottingham University) where he gained a distinction in Mathematics and later qualified for a Diploma in Education at London University. He also holds an MCC cricket coaching qualification. In 1993 Adrian moved to the Isle of Sheppey in 1993 and was instantly struck by the beauty of its countryside and coastline.

Ken represents Minster Cliffs ward on Swale Borough Council, and also represents the Sheerness county division on Kent County Council.

Ed is well known to many in Murston having lived most of his life in the area, attending both local infant and junior schools. He is married with a teenage daughter, so he knows the problems the young experience due to lack of youth facilities in this part of the Town.

Ed is a trained horticulturalist and many residents see him daily as he looks after our parks and open spaces as Contracts Manager for a local grounds maintenance contractor.

Richard, like many other islanders was born and educated in the East End of London, he has three sons and moved to Sheppey in 2004, taking up residence in Halfway.

Richard has worked in the Gas Industry for 42 years and has been a trade union representative for 25 years. He has been a Trustee for Age Concern and takes a great interest in working with the elderly and disabled, a cause he feels passionate about.

Lloyd has lived in Swale for many years and therefore can empathize with residents of Roman Ward and the problems they experience in going about their daily lives. For instance the Swanstree Avenue highway extension has created almost as many problems for residents around it as it has solved the problems of those outside the area and these outstanding issues need to be resolved.

Chris was born on Sheppey and attended local schools before following a career in carpentry and joinery before running his own local cabinet making business.

Chris is a school governor of a local Primary School and as a father feels the importance of good local education to be vital for the future. He equally feels strongly that not enough is done to provide better social activities and facilities for our young and will make that a priority.

Lesley has been a State Registered Nurse for 26 years. She trained in London and has worked at many hospitals, including the old Sheppey hospital. She has lived in the area over twenty years. The issues affecting the ward include traffic control, security, policing, drug issues, vandalism and over development. There is a good community spirit and strong parish councils in both Eastchurch and Minster.
Lesley's interests include reading, driving, on ladies committee at Eastchurch, theatre and music

John has been involved in local community affairs, representing residents of eastern Sheppey in various roles, as a borough or parish councillor over the last 28 years. He was re-elected to Swale Borough Council in 2002 where he now holds the Community Services Portfolio and chairs the Licensing Committee.
John was honoured to be elected Mayor of Swale in 2006/8 during which time he championed the cause of senior citizens and the residents of Minster and Eastchurch.

Paul feels that his role as a Councillor is to be pro-active in seeking the best opportunities and development for my local area. He is fully committed to this, and feel that he is able to deliver this. His everyday role is around supporting vulnerable people in our local communities throughout Swale, and he feels that he is able to extend this to deliver this to all of us, and generate positive outcomes for the area and its community in the ward.

Derek is married with three children and has lived in Sittingbourne for 39 years. He attended Risinghill Comprehensive and Kingsway College, London and is a fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives (F.Inst.L.Ex). He is now retired and key issues in the ward are regeneration, parking, litter and communications.

Ricky is a long standing Swale Borough Councillor, representing Teynham & Lynsted ward which has recently been added to the Sittingbourne & Sheppey constituency.

Trevor was born in Faversham and has lived in the area for 31 years. He attended Davington Primary School and then the Abbey School, Faversham before attending Canterbury Tech.

Trevor's qualifications include City & Guilds, Advanced City & Guilds, OFTEC, Corgi and MIPHE RP. He is the manager of a Plumbing and Heating Company. Trevor's hobbies include fishing, photography and shares.
